Bali Elopement Photographer
Kris and Alex met up with me to watch the sun rise on a secret beach in Bali. But getting here was the biggest struggle for me. The night before, I had rented a motorbike, but I hadn't tried to ride it as it was very late. So when we woke up at 4:30 in the morning to leave for the beach, I was sooooo nervous to drive to the shoot! Right away, it was soooo hard to balance. I had my boyfriend, Jake, hanging on behind me, and he was leaning the OPPOSITE WAY AS ME whenever me when around a corner. Lol so trying to turn the heavy af scooter WHILE my boyfriend is directing his weight in the wrong direction was pretty difficult. For whatever reason, the rental place gave me the scooter when the gas gage was one EMPTY, so I was freaking out that I wouldn't even be ABLE to make it to the beach. OR BACK. But when I went to a gas station, no one came to fill up my tank. I don't know if they weren't open or if the attendant just wasn't there, but I couldn't get gas and had to continue to the beach with just my stress to power the bike the rest of the way. But we ended up making it to the beach! And it was great! Just not the best time to try riding a motorbike on the opposite side of the road for the first time lol.
So Kris and Alex met a year ago. They met through mutual friends, and happened to be hanging out in the same group of people on the same night! They were just drawn to each other, and immediately had a connection. After meeting a few times through mutual hangouts, Alex asked her out on a date!
Canggu is just such a beautiful place in Bali. Its not as touristy as Semnyak, but you still have tons of amazing villas and cafes. There are a few big touristy beaches, but there are so many GORGEOUS beaches that only locals know about and go to that are so freaking beautiful! The first day that I was in Canggu, I hit up all of the beaches that are recommended by google, but found them to have a bunch of tourists and crowds, so the second day, I just went to beaches that I found myself on google maps. And THOSE beaches were the coolest. I barely saw ANY tourists, the locals that I met weren't trying to sell me things, and the beaches were so stunning and just an amazing experience.
Kris' dress was actually made by her mother! (I wish I could have talked my mom into making me a dress like this back when she used to make me clothes lol) It was so gorgeous and flowy, and I wanted to get her mom to make ME one! Kris is also a fashion designer, and has tons of designs and plans for a fashion line one day!
It was so much fun getting to capture Kris and Alex's special relationship. They're the cutest together, and I couldn't imagine better people to watch a sunrise with!
