Granada Spain Engagement Photos
I had such the best time last week in Granada with Lisa and Gon! I’d never been to Granada before, and surprisingly, neither had Gon or Lisa. Surprising because Gon is FROM spain and Lisa has been to Spain many times for trips to visit Gon’s family or for vacation. SO this was going to be a new experience for all of us. And, spoiler alert, IT WAS FREAKING DOPE.
First we headed south of Granada to Cabo de gato, and we were greeted with some huge sand dunes that I was immediately obsessed with. I had to climb it. Gon and Lisa were pretty good sports about getting sand EVERYWHERE, and we climbed the biggest dune I could see.
Once we made it to the top of the dune, we could see the beach! (And mayyyyyyybe Africa in the distance? She’s there….we just couldn’t see it!) The ocean was freaking blue (coming from a Seattlelite who only sees grey water….and grey sky…and grey-you get the picture), and there was only like two people on the beach so we basically had it all to ourselves!
So Lisa and Gon met at work. They are both Architects (yes, I googled how to spell that word. It’s hard!) and they met in New York! Lisa met him on her very first day when she was hurriedly looking for a notebook in the supply room! Gon was NOT helpful (in her opinion), and she immediately didn’t like him. It was’t until a while later that they became friends….and eventually more! After their first date, they set up a second date but the day of the date Lisa got hit by a car! Her roommate messaged Gon on facebook, and he went to the hospital and stayed with her until they kicked him out! He then took care of her over the next few weeks while she was getting better, cooking for her and helping her out! SO FREAKING SWEET!
Gon proposed to Lisa last year on another trip to Spain. He proposed in a tiny restaurant corner of an old, historic hotel in San Sebastian. It was a total surprise, but so fitting for two architects to get engaged in such a gorgeous old building!
I had the best time exploring Cabo de gato with these guys! (I’m also entirely indebted to them for teaching me about tapas and all of the amazing food in Spain!) Seriously, you get free food with every drink that you order-ITS AMAZING! And also dangerous. Ok, that’s all. Hit me up if you go to Spain and need food recs! I am now an expert.
