Lake Washington was a freaking dream. Just being BY THE WATER on a 90 degree day was a LIFESAVER. PLUS the added benefit of seeing the waves and all of the boats all day was just the cherry on top. Cara + Joseph have had a long relationship, they have actually been together for SEVEN YEARS. And if you're impressed by that, they've actually been long distance for FIVE YEARS. So they're basically rockstars. That commitment though! They began crushing on each other at FIFTEEN, and have basically grown up together. Their relationship has survived hundreds of miles of distance and so many years apart, so I am SO happy that they FINALLY get to be together!
So I got to Cara + Joseph's venue around noon and it was already DEAD HOT. But the day was literally SO BEAUTIFUL. Cara + her girls were hanging out in the ac, having the best morning. Their venue, on the side of Lake Washington was GORGEOUS. seriously a dream, but because of the blinding heat, they were doing the smart thing and getting married under a tent. THANK GOD. I'm prone to sunburn. Even so, it was already crazy hot under the tent.
So Joseph proposed to Cara back in November. He took her on a walk through a park in Seattle. It was raining. It was romantic. It was a surprise. He had known for YEARS that she was the one for him. Basically since they were fifteen. He had a surprise photographer hidden behind a tree to capture the moment that he asked her to be his wife forever. She was TOTALLY surprised, and obviously said yes right away!
Cara + Joseph couldn't stand to be apart for too long, so we did a first look right away so they could spend as much time together as they could on their special day! During the ceremony though, Joseph still stared at her like it was the first time seeing her all day. Their ceremony was short and sweet, and the two exchanged heartfelt vows while the lake splashed behind them. Even though we were under the tent, it was still crazy hot. So hot, in fact, that one of the groomsmen actually PASSED OUT. MID CEREMONY. The paramedics were called of course, and he was eventually fine. But guys, heat exhaustion is no joke! Stay hydrated! Stay out of the sun! And, if you're in the bridal party, DO NOT LOCK YOUR KNEES. Haha follow these tips and you should be good!
Joseph + Cara had such a special day and it was so much fun to celebrate with them! They really have the sweetest story, and I'm so excited that they are finally MARRIED!!
