Mount Rainier Longmeyer Bridge Elopement Photography

Cody and John eloped on Mount Rainier this weekend. They had a wonderful private ceremony with just their parents and their sibling and their best friend, Ryan. They started planning their wedding a while ago when they first got engaged. They began planning the typical big affair, and booked a venue. The stress of the day, the worry of the seating charts and budget and all of the crazy things that come with big weddings just became overwhelming and they decided to cancel the venue and plan a smaller day. Soon after they realized that they didn’t even want that, and just wanted to elope with only each other. They told their families about their decision, and they all begged to be included in their special day as well so they opened it up to immediate family only. Most of their family flew up from California the day before, and they rented out a big cabin for the ten of them. They received a permit to use Longmeyer Bridge on Mount Rainier, and planned their ceremony for that location. When they checked it out the week before, there was no snow on the lower half of the Mountain, but after all of our crazy weather this last week, there was a good amount of snow and Cody and John were THRILLED!

So Cody and John met three years ago through mutual friends. They immediately connected, and have so many similar interests. They decided to move to Seattle together last year, and began a whole new chapter! John proposed last February on a trip to Disneyland. It was her birthday weekend, so she suspected that it might be the weekend that he was planning on proposing! He didn’t the first day, so she forgot about her suspicions and decided he wasn’t going to that trip. He led to to a lake that viewed Cinderella’s castle and proposed to her there. She was so surprised, she immediately pulled him back up! She of course said yes.

Longmeyer Bridge looked so beautiful covered in snow, and we were able to view some of the mountain from where we were! Cody walked down the “aisle” to their song “We are all we need” by their favorite band Above and Beyond. I think all of their parents cried at different moments throughout the ceremony, and they said the most heartfelt vows to each other. Ryan, their best friend, led the ceremony so beautifully, and everyone huddled together because of the cold.
