Mt Rainier A-frame Cabin Engagement Photos
This weekend, was fricken great. Me and my bf, Jake, headed up to Packwood for a weekend getaway at the CUTEST A-frame cabin. This place was seriously adorable. Packwood is up really close to Mt Rainier National Park, and is super close to our fave ski resort, White pass. We've been up in the area a lot, but we've never actually stayed in Packwood, even though we've always wanted to. The great thing about Packwood is that there are elks EVERYWHERE. Which is kinda great, kinda scary. Elks are huge. And scary. Not like moose huge, or bear scary, but huge and scary none the less. (nonetheless?) So they're running' around all over the place. On the road? Elks. In the town? Elks. In everyone's yards? FREAKING ELKS. Watch out if you ever head to Packwood. (But you hunters better stay away from my precious elks!)
When we went to light the fire to roast some smores, we ran into some issues. One, it was raining. Which, while we were cool with it, the fire wasn't as much. We went through a whole roll of paper towels trying to light the dang thing. We eventually gave up and left what small flames there were to smolder in the rain and headed out to the back porch.
A thing that I thought was fricken HILARIOUS was the fact that the "logs" on the porch of the cabin were not in fact logs at all, but were just tiny woods rounds stapled to the porch. This house was MADE for instagram. From the vintage magazines to the old af pictures and maps hung up everywhere, it was made to be shot and uploaded directly to instagram.
One of the best parts of the cabin was the "soaking tub" on the back porch. (Which I think is just fancy talk for "hot tub"?) It was wooden, and, like everything in the cabin, adorable. It was so nice to sit in while the rain was pouring down, and it was right at the edge of the porch so it gave us the feeling of sitting in a hot spring in the woods.
When we got back inside after our soak, we noticed through the window that our fire was now RUSTLING. (Does that mean burning well?) All of the logs had caught flame and a huge ass fire was now burning in the front driveway. We grabbed our marshmelllows and ran back out to the front to fulfill our smores dreams!
