Guemes Island Elopement Photographer
Aimee and Scott met in one of the most rom-com ways I've ever heard of! So Aimee is a nurse, right? So she's working one day and one of her patients notices that she's clearly gorgeous and so he makes it his goal to set her up with his best friend's son! So he asks her for her number. Aimee says no a million times, but he's persistent and finally convinces her to give him her email to give to his friend's son. A few weeks later she gets an email. FROM SCOTT! He says that his Dad had been bugging him to give her an email so he was finally reaching out to appease him. As awkward as it was, they actually hit it off over email and decided to go on a date. WHICH WENT TERRIBLY. But they kept hanging out, and before they knew it they were in love.
Scott proposed on a trip to the coast. He wanted the moment to be right, but was acting suspicious and Aimee knew that something was up. When he proposed on the beach later that day, she knew why he was acting so strange!
Scott and Aimee's elopement was so cute and they had it on a tiny property on Guemes Island. I'd never been to this small island before, but its actually the cutest! The view from the beach includes all of the surrounding islands (Orcas, Cyrus, idk maybe San Juan, there were a bunch out there! Don't judge me for not being an island expert!) During their ceremony, there was a random stand up paddleboarder that came paddling by. THEN he saw the ceremony happening and just decided to sit down and WATCH THE CEREMONY. So he's in like all of the photos, but I did my best to hide him with Aimee and Scott's head when I was shooting haha! Who just decides to watch a random ceremony of people they don't know?!?! lol. Especially while in a swimsuit!
But regardless, they had such a sweet ceremony, and then spent the rest of the night hanging out by the water, chilling with their friends and blowing giant bubbles in the dark. (Yeah, I didn't know it was a thing either. You just blow a giant bubble and then shine a flashlight on it and it glows all cool. Its a whole thing.) Anyway it was the best night ever and the coffee was delicious.
