Lake Cresent Adventure Engagement Session//Annie + Vito
Annie + Vito heated up the chili Olympic peninsula last week with their loooooove. These guys met last year. Annie was a cute barista, working at a drive thru coffeeshop in Tacoma. Vita was the customer that came through everyday for his daily coffee and chat with Annie. Obviously he had a crush on her, (because who wouldn't?!) and eventually he got to know her enough that he went out with her and her friends. They fell in luuuuurve, and the sparks were flying between these two. They knew that it was meant to be, and these cuties got engaged last year!
We met up on the olympic peninsula to document their engagement! We originally planned to shoot on hurricane ridge, BUT due to a snow storm the night before, IT WAS CLOSED. We changed the plans on the fly and decided to shoot at nearby lake Cresent! It was supposed to snow there as well, but we lucked out and the weather decided to be PERFECT! Overcast days are my jammmmm, and my favorite to shoot in! PLUS we even got a bit of snow once we mate it farther into the woods! It was so magical!
Once we explored Lake Cresent for a while, we headed off for Marymere Falls! Its not a very long hike, but it is a gorgeous hike through the tallest trees with tons of moss-covered branches guiding the way. Once we got to the river, the snow began! It started slowly at first, and then picked up pace until it was actually making it a little hard to see as we continues the hike! Annie and Vito danced in the falling snow and we all tried to catch it in our mouths. The flakes were HUGE and we were soaked pretty soon so we continued our hike up to the waterfall.
Once we got up there, we discovered that the falls, usually wild and green and flowing, were FROZEN. So much so that we couldn't even make it down to the base of the falls! So we hung out near the top and took in the beauty of the winter wonderland that we had discovered. No other hikers were on the trail and we had the view all to ourselves! Once we finished, we walked a few hundred feet away and were back by the river where there was no snow! So weird! But this is just another reason why I love the PNW, there is so much dang variety everywhere you look!
